The Newtownabbey Women's Shed is based at the Ferguson Centre, and runs on a Wednesday & Thursday at 2pm. Join us, get involved, everyone welcome!
This was the first workshop of a series of eight guided by the skillful hand of artist Fiona Rainey. Twelve Shed members took part in this workshop. Almost everyone was a beginner and had never used acrylic paint before. Fiona began by explaining the basics of Acrylic Painting, and colour mixing. Todays painting assignment was to copy a Vincent Van Gogh painting, The Starry Night. As we painted, Fiona demonstrated and explained different painting techniques, and gave advice to anyone who needed help.
We all very much enjoyed our first attempt at Acrylic Painting and we are looking forward to the second workshop next week on the 27th August.
Newtownabbey Women's Shed really appreciate IMPACT NI for supporting and funding our Arts & Crafts workshops.
