The Newtownabbey Women's Shed is based at the Ferguson Centre, and runs on a Wednesday & Thursday at 2pm. Join us, get involved, everyone welcome!
VE Day marked the end of World War Two in Europe. Huge crowds took to the streets on 8 May 1945 to sing, dance and rejoice after nearly six years of war.
To mark the 80th anniversary, Newtownabbey Women’s Shed celebrated with afternoon tea. Some of the ladies threw themselves into the spirit of the event, dressing up in 1940s costumes. We were delighted that some of the Men’s Shed members provided music for the event. Alex & Jim played ukulele and John sang.
We all had a very enjoyable afternoon.
